General Information on Letters

A letter is basically a form of communication tool, it is a message written by an individual to pass on a message to another person. Sending mails is a great method of communication and it started long time ago. Actually, sending of letters has been made easier and faster by internet and someone can now send a mail within an hour through the internet. In this article we discuss more details on sending letter, methods and also types of letters.

There are several types of letter and some of them include Inquiry letters these are business letters and they are usually brief and they are written straight to the point. Another kind of letters is poison pen letter and mostly they contain statements about a third party or the recipient and they are commonly used for written to offend someone. Personal letter is another type of letters; they are usually between friends or family.

There are very informal personal letters these are love letters, thank you letters, postal cards, and emails among others. Also there is informal formal personal and these include invitation, thank you letters, social acceptance etc. The other is very formal public face legal and this includes job applications, writing to banks among others.

Secondly, it should have the address of the person whom it is being sent to. Thirdly, it should have a reference, this is the heading or the main reason you are sending the letter and below it is the greetings. The next thing is writing the letter body, this is the message you want to send to your recipient. The last thing is putting a closing, signature line and the name. It is important to know that the recipient address, greetings, main message should be in the left hand margin while the heading, closing, signature and the name of the sender should be tabbed over. There are many things that we can discuss about letters but these are just a few.
