Initially, the communications were made through telegraph, and then came telephones, replaced by pagers, and now because of the technological advancements we have mobile or cordless telephones that have changed the meaning and process of communication greatly and have made the world a global village in its true sense.

This technology offered even an ordinary individual with a wireless handset that they could use anywhere while they are within a specific perimeter being at home or in office. This turned out to be extremely user friendly as with the cordless telephones you were able to easily talk while you are indulged in another activity without being worried about the hassle of wires. You are not required to put the cordless telephones on the phone jack but you can put it at any place and anywhere in the house. This turned out to be an extremely attracting and prominent feature for home telephone users. It is offering a large number of features but another considerable feature was the intercom facility which made this particular telephone design extremely popular as it became a utility device for factories, offices, and homes.

The communication which is done via the cordless telephones is basically based on radio waves with a base station that it further linked to the fixed telephone line normally at the subscriber premises. The base station is connected to the telephone network in the same manner as the home phone or corded telephone does. The cordless telephones require electricity which will be charging them base station. Most of the models come with a rechargeable battery and it is on charge when the handset or hand phone is on the cradle.

There are primarily three kinds such as digital spread spectrum, digital and analog. If you are considering opting for the Analog cordless telephones then these are least expensive while offering you with great voice quality. However, they are not secure to use, as any other comparable device probably be able to listen to the conversation you are having with such handsets.

The other form is the Digital cordless phones offer the same range as of the as analog; however, they offer better security when compared. The other kind, Digital Spread Spectrum or the DSS offers an extremely better range than the digital or analog phone sets. These are extremely secure and protected from any sort of RF interference.
