Samsung R910 Metro PCS To Be Unveiled Soon
Since 1994, Metro PCS has quickly become a leading provider of communication services and innovative cellular phones, with over 8 million customers in the United States alone. Just recently, the company has been rumored that it is set to release another LTE capable handset, the Samsung R910 Metro PCS early this year. Also now known as the Indulge, this handset is expected to be designed for customers to enjoy LTE connectivity on the company's network that is already available in some places in the USA.
The company built the first operational LTE network in the U.S. and released the first LTE device last year to beat Verizon to the claim to be the first American carrier to offer LTE smartphone. The company is speculated to release another high-end LTE capable smatphone to take advantage of its LTE network services late February this year. Although pictures of the device already came out on the Internet, there has been no official announcement made on this matter for the time being.
The final list of specifications that this smartphone will offer remains to be a mystery. However, the industry analysts speculate that the Indulge will also have Android support and will offer features similar to that of the Galaxy S lineup. According to the sources behind the pictures that came out on the Internet a few days back, the smartphone will offer 5.0 megapixel camera, support microSD expansion, Hummingbird processor, Bluetooth 3.0, and, of course, WiFi capabilities.
According to some sources, the Indulge is the LTE capable variation of Sprint's Samsung Transform, which features Android 2.2, QWERTY keyboard, 1GHz processor, front facing camera, TouchWiz user interface, and Bluetooth with stereo audio support. The pictures of the Indulge that came out on the Internet a few days ago, however, showed no sign of QWERTY keyboard. Moreover, according to sources, the handset currently runs on Android 2.2 but analysts expect that it will be upgraded to Android 2.3
With regard to the price of the Indulge, it is expected to fall between $329.99- $400. The retail price is reportedly $400 contract-free. This, however, is only an estimate basing on the statements from Metro PCS executives who previously confirmed their intention to release a high-end Android phone early this year.
After the release of the Samsung R910 Metro PCS, production of Samsung R910 accessories is also expected to follow to enhance the performance and features of the device. The accessories to be produced for the device will, of course, include standard enhancements like headsets and headphones, USD cables, car kits, screen protectors, cases and Bluetooth device. External memory cards, which allow users to store more data into the device, are also among the accessories that are also expected to be patronized by the users to enhance the functionality of the Indulge. According to sources, the Indulge will offer support microSD expansion of up to 64GB to allow users to store more videos, music files as well as emails into the phone.
