Getting Back in Touch With Old Friends Soon After Moving Away
When people move there are many things that get lost in the process. Things like your favorite coffee mug or a lucky pair of sneakers are items that can easily be replaced. When it comes to friends, you may find that they are much harder to forget they an inanimate object. You may have said that you would stay in touch with certain friends and actually meant to do so but things are never that simple. Although there are countless ways to stay in touch with someone, the way we communicate these days can be a bit impersonal. If you have been friends with someone, you knew for years an occasional email may not suffice.
After getting into your everyday routine, you may not be able to find the time to contact your old friends. It is also possible that they are just as busy as you are which can cause you to drift apart. When you do find the time, your old friends may be your distant friends. Some may have changed their phone numbers and other may have moved away as well. Getting back in touch with your old friends may take a little work but there is still hope.
Getting back in touch with old friends in past was nearly impossible unless you know someone else that is still in contact with them. There was the option of searching the yellow pages but if their number was not listed or they didn't own a phone line in their name you had to accept that your friend was gone forever. In today's world, there are many options to find people that you have lost contact with. If you know your friends name, you may be able to find them on one of the many social networking sites.
There are times when a simple disagreement may have led to you falling out of touch with a friend. Over time you may have gotten over you discrepancies and consider getting back in touch with your old friend. Before you start looking for professional movers and reading price quotes for moving company insurance, you should find out if your old friend is as eager to patch things up as you are. If you have their email address, you should reach out to them by sending them an email letting them know that you want to catch up. You can include a brief summary of how you have been over the year.
If you or your friend feels hesitant to reconcile, you should not feel pressured or try to force a reunion. Rather than force it you can simply let them know that you are happy to hear from them and allow them to make contact in the future. You can continue to attempt communication in the future but you try to feel them out as they may not feel as eager as you are to reconnect.
