Exchange of Ideas

A valuable message can be sent through a single finger touching one side of a nose, an arm waved to the right or to the left has meaning, a vertical upward pointing five fingers of the hand has value as a horizontal pointing five fingers to the side in certain gambling venues except in a game where cards are used where one's life may be on the line.

Information interchange between two or more individuals, exchange of ideas through talking and listening, reading or writing, painting or sketch, dancing or gymnastics, storytelling, gestures, body language, movements, and action also convey meanings to others and are methods of communication and a means of exchanging thoughts and feelings. Verbal communication is made through talking while nonverbal ones are made through action which is more eloquent. In some situations both are applied.

All communication is intended to elicit a response, to influence others and to attain important information which can be helpful or the opposite. The former encourages a sharing of information, thoughts and feelings between two or more people while the other blocks the transfer of information.

People who can communicate effectively are in a position to better initiate change that promotes whatever is intended, establish a trusting relationship and problems are given the right solution with the necessary adjustments to the permanent and unalterable situation. Through communication a helping relationship can be positioned in which one person may assist another in problem solving and to face the crises in the direction the assisted person chooses. This applies to the persons in all walks of life to act as helpers and receivers of help.
