Cell Phones, VOIP's, Magic Jacks - What's What?

It's amazing how many different options we have today in communications. We are in a global village and sometimes there can be too many choices it seems. In the past there were only a few big telephone companies and they had the population by a financial stranglehold. Long distance charges were incredibly high. Now luckily we have lots of options but you need to be a phone detective to figure out what's what.

I have personally used the "magic jack" and it has it's pro's and con's, but I would say the huge cost savings and benefits outweigh the cons. Sometimes there is an echo but usually it is just a matter of redialing and connecting again. If you have a land-line and are paying monthly bills that are too high for you I would suggest checking out a magic jack. I have nothing to gain from this by the way. I really do use one. It cost less than a couple hundred dollars and it is good until 2014...no monthly phone bills till 2014...Nice! Like I said it has its pros and cons...but who am I to say...As with anything in life, you should decide for yourself.

V.O.I.P. stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol and it is just another way of making calls. As the name implies it is transmitted over the internet and very cheap. The quality is getting better and better and once again the cost savings over traditional land-line telephones is immense. People have reported savings of up to 90% for overseas calls. There are lots of ways to use V.O.I.P. service, one of the most known being "Skype". Just do a search on Google or Yahoo to see all your options.
